Pembroke Corgi Is Fed Science Diet

I have three dogs, but since you seem to want answers for only one, I'll use my Pembroke Corgi, Elphin. She is 6 1/2 yrs. old. I give her brand dog food, and have since I got her as a puppy of 3 months. She eats a mixture of the Lite and the regular Adult.

This food was recommended by my vet long ago, but I also heard good things about it, leading me to give it a try. I've used 2 of the prescription versions of Science Diet for 2 different dogs in the past: Weight Maintenance and the one for kidney problems (U/D or maybe K/D?).

I normally purchase Science Diet from Petsmart, mainly because I like that store and it's convenient (it's where 1 of my dogs gets groomed and where the 3 board occasionally).

Other info: if you have a corgi, Pembroke or Cardigan, it's important to watch their food intake, and not spoil them with treats like you'll want to do! : ) My corgi seems to have a naturally high metabolism, so weight has never been a problem for her, but I still measure her food carefully, and give all 3 dogs healthy/low-fat treats.

It's common for corgis to be on a lite food, whatever the brand, and I'd recommend Science Diet or Eukanuba or one of the organic brands. If you can keep your corgi active, though, she/he may not even need lite food!
